Clos de Tsampéhro was founded in 2011 by four enthusiastic wine lovers and they brought their first vintage to market in 2013. Based in Flanthey, Switzerland at 660m above sea level, they use organic methods to produce red, white and sparkling wines and have recently added wine infused cheese to their product range.
Gault & Millau have ranked Clos de Tsampéhro among the 125 best Swiss winegrowers and Vinum presents them in its ranking of the 100 most important Swiss estates. Falstaff ranked their Brut in first place in the Swiss sparkling wines category. Now producing more than 10,000 bottles annually they are currently among the fastest growing wine makers in Switzerland.

Challenge
For this fast growing business the goal was to streamline the inventory, sales and supply process and to make information easy to share across the business, via the cloud.
The key challenge was to have centralized inventory control for supplies, including bottles, raw materials etc. Inventory control would also allow Clos de Tsampéhro to easily be able to supply mixed cases of wine, assembled according to customer desires.
Half of the wines are sold on the Internet, by subscription, in the spring of the year they are put up for sale, even before they are bottled. Such a superior product must be matched by exceptional service for customers and inventory overview and control is a key ingredient in achieving the goals of Clos de Tsampéhro.
Solution
As a fairly young company, Clos de Tsampéhro didn’t bring with it much legacy software to integrate, with the exception of some MS Excel spreadsheets. Therefore the project moved from discussion to execution very quickly and in May 2018 Clos de Tsampéhro went live with Salesforce’s Lightning Sales Cloud.
Some minor data cleaning was completed jointly by Clos de Tsampéhro and Nexell. Then Nexell imported the accounts and contacts and an invoicing system was developed. MailChimp has also been integrated.
The inventory process has been setup in Salesforce to enable tracking of individual bottles, instead of cases.
Result
All invoices are now in one system and can be emailed directly from Salesforce, which has sped up the administrative flow.
Samples received by Clos de Tsampéhro can now be tracked and their own marketing successes are also now trackable.
As a result of being able to track individual bottles with Salesforce, bespoke orders are now being easily fulfilled, while the business now has an accurate overview of its stock and order status.
Reports are now available and are providing the business with useful metrics and Clos de Tsampéhro now have a better overall view of the entire business. These metrics and the centralised workflow, accessible for staff from whatever location they need to work from, has provided a springboard for the future and helps Clos de Tsampéhro to support a premium product with premium service.
